After Burner is a new energy drink for people who go to Burning Man. Talk about niche market. It’s described as “Playa Fuel” and “Aura Elixir” with the tagline: “The Fuel You Need To Radically Express Yourself on The Playa”

Wouldn’t it be a more radical self-expression to not follow everyone else and make your own energy drink? or not drink them at all?

Or does this year’s theme encourage everyone to embody the sort of stomp all over you capitalism / consumerism in lieu of culture that America’s become know for?

I’m all for small businesses making money off burning man – more power to them. But it seems to me all the creativity of doing things for yourself, making costumes, building a camp has been replaced by a ready to wear, ready to consume version of burning man. The most extreme example I’m aware of being The El Monte RV luxury accomodation – a fully stocked RV driven to the playa for you – oh yeah…

Sad but inevitable.

I’m pretty sure this is a hoax/fake meant to play on the “American Dream” theme of this year’s burn.
