5 Pointz, a warehouse in Queens that served as a sprawling outdoor exhibition space for graffiti, was abruptly painted white early Tuesday morning and all the art was destroyed. The whitewashing was ordered by the building’s owner, Long Island property developer Jerry Wolkoff, who after years of permitting the graffiti, is planning to demolish the warehouse and replace it with residential towers. The building is scheduled to be torn down by the end of the year.
