‘Psychogeographies’, Life-Sized Figure Sculptures Created With Collages Layered Between Plates of Glass

In his sculpture series Psychogeographies, artist Dustin Yellin renders life-sized human figures in 3D collages that are locked in monumental 3,000-pound blocks of glass. The sculptures may appear solid at first glance but they actually consist of many plates of glass. On each plate, Yellin creates a collage from pieces of books, magazines, and even trash. The plates are then sandwiched together to form the three-dimensional figure. Yellin’s sculptures are currently on display at Lincoln Center as part of the NYCB Art Series by the New York City Ballet. The sculpture exhibit is on public display until February 22, 2015, and will be accessible to attendees of New York City Ballet performances until March 1.
