New York Introduces Text Stops to Encourage Drivers to Pull Over Before Using Mobile Phones
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the introduction of 91 “Text Stops” along the New York State Thruway and highways to encourage drivers to pull over before using their phones. According to the announcement, existing rest stops, parking areas, and Park-n-Ride facilities will also serve as Text Stops, and nearly 300 new signs will be put up to notify drivers of their existence.
