Ideas City, A Four-Day Discussion Festival in New York City
Ideas City is a biennial festival in New York City that features conferences, workshops, a StreetFest, and more than one hundred independent projects and events. The festival, founded by the New Museum in 2011, promotes a discussion forum for community members “with the belief that arts and culture are essential to the vitality of urban centers, making them better places to live, work, and play.” Ideas City 2013 will run from May 1st to May 4th, feature a keynote speech from MIT Media Lab director Joi Ito, and will center around the theme of Untapped Capital, the idea that there are underutilized resources within the city.
