CoolNYC, An Energy-Saving Program For Controlling Air Conditioning Units Wirelessly

CoolNYC is a program for NYC-based Con Edison customers that allows members to wirelessly control their air conditioning units using their smartphones or computers. Using a modlet — or modern electrical outlet — that plugs into an ordinary outlet and a smartAC thermostat, users can control their air conditioners and room temperature from their smartphone or computer. Prospective users can sign up at the coolNYC website.
