After making his debut in 1966, a sharp-toothed early version of Cookie Monster made a guest appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in October 1967, during which he proceeded to methodically consume a colorful and rather vociferous talking machine. Despite being systematically disassembled, the machine kept on talking.
