Computerphile Explains How Passwords Are Cracked and How to Choose Secure Passwords
In two recent videos the University of Nottingham series Computerphile explains how passwords are cracked and how users can choose and manage more secure passwords. The videos feature Dr. Mike Pound demonstrating how a high-end computer called Beast can easily crack passwords from an encrypted database.
Pound also uses the xkcd comic “Password Strength” as an example of what does and does not make for a good password.
