Breathtaking Timelapses of Earth Taken by Astronaut Alexander Gerst From the International Space Station
The European Space Agency (ESA) has released a compilation of breathtaking time-lapse videos of Earth taken by German astronaut Alexander Gerst during his time aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The videos highlight incredible views of auroras, cities at night, and even segments of the exterior of the ISS like the Canadarm2 in action.
Gerst lived aboard the ISS from May 29, 2014 to November 10, 2014 as part of Expedition 40, Expedition 41Â and the ESA Blue Dot mission.
