AlphaDog, A Four-Legged All Terrain Robot by Boston Dynamics
The AlphaDog is a four-legged all terrain robot under development by Boston Dynamics. The prototype robot can run, roll over, and even recover its balance when humans repeatedly try to knock it over. It also appears eerily lifelike in many of its movements and looks like a cross between a Pushmi-pullyu and a Star Wars AT-AT. The robot is intended as a US military Legged Squad Support System–a sort of robot pack mule that carries 400 pounds of cargo. The project is funded by DARPA.
