Actor Joel McHale to Guest Star as a Conservative News Anchor in ‘The X-Files’ Series Reboot
Actor and comedian Joel McHale of Community and The Soup has been confirmed as a guest star on the limited-run, six-episode reboot of The X-Files, joining original series stars David Duchovny (Mulder), Gillian Anderson (Scully), and Mitch Pileggi (Skinner). According to The Hollywood Reporter, McHale is the first announced guest star.
The actor and comedian will play Tad O’Malley, the anchor of a popular conservative Internet news network who becomes an unlikely ally for Mulder (David Duchovny). McHale is the first piece of new casting for the upcoming six-episode revival, which is set to premiere on Jan. 24, 2016.
