Every morning, Rico walks through the halls, sensing who needs comfort the most. Frightened animals calm down when he sits beside them and starts to purr. Anxious owners feel better when he quietly stays close.
Rico cares for orphaned kittens who come to the clinic, snuggling them close to let them know that they are not alone.
When orphaned kittens arrive at the clinic, weak and scared, Rico lies next to them during exams and procedures.
Dr. Meryem Imrani, who rescued Rico when he was critically ill as a street kitten, considers him an important part of her practice.
