10th Anniversary of the Laughing Squid Blog

2003 Blog

On February 27, 2003 I posted my first proto-blog post on Laughing Squid. At the time I was manually posting “news” updates to the front page and did so through 2004. On January 1, 2005 I formally launched a blog on Laughing Squid using WordPress and added all of the previous updates into the blog. So today marks the 10th anniversary of when I technically launched the Laughing Squid blog that you are now reading. It’s been a pretty amazing journey so far.

My very first post was about a benefit that Survival Research Labs was doing for experimental drummer Tim North, creator of the “Hoverdrum”, who unfortunately passed away from stomach cancer. Our first post is dedicated to Tim.

I want to give a big shout out to our amazing blog team which includes Managing Editor Rusty Blazenhoff, writers EDW Lynch, Justin Page, Kimber Streams, mikl-em and of course all of our guest blogger alumni.

Also thanks to all our loyal readers out there, some of which have been with us the entire decade.
