After visiting the 24 hour Apple store, I made my way down to Times Square and shot a bunch of night photos in the sub-freezing weather. The streets were practially empty and at times it felt like I had the place all to myself.
Over the years the lights of Times Square seems to be getting brighter and the ads spreading to more city blocks. Sometimes I really miss the grungy, neon version of Times Square from Midnight Cowboy and Taxi Driver.
Photos of Times Square at Night
Speaking of Times Square, Ironic Sans recently attempted to photograph every ad in Times Square.

Very nice pictures.
I can’t believe they got rid of the lipton cup of soup… I mean that was as much of a symbol of NYC as the statue of liberty. For shame NY!
Very nice shots! I was amaze you were able to photograph the place without so many cars driving by.
Great Shots..
I’d love to go there. I’ll make it some day.
If the ads are spreading does that mean Times Sq. is slowly growing?
Wow it’s so empty, that’s amazing – almost like Vanilla Sky.
Absolutely great pictures there! Keep the photos coming!
When are they going to take down the billboard of P. Doofy doing the Nazi salute?
These are beautiful… I can never remember Times Square being this empty. At what time did you take these? It’s like a Twilight Zone episode.
Zadi – I was there around 1:30am. I didn’t stay as long as I wanted to because it was so damn cold.
