Steven Spielberg Congratulates George Lucas on Success of Star Wars

In the December 2nd, 1977 issue of Variety, Steven Spielberg published an open letter to George Lucas congratulating him on the success of “Star Wars” as it moved past “Jaws” in domestic film rentals.
