Driver Claims 24-Minute Record for the Fastest Loop Around Manhattan

A driver under the name of AfroDuck Productions claims to have set a new record for the fastest loop around Manhattan during a 24-minute run on August 26th, 2013. The driver began on FDR/East Side Drive at 116th Street and drove a 2006 BMW Z4 south around the eastern edge of Manhattan, looping around the island’s southern tip and driving north before cutting off the northern section of Manhattan at the George Washington Bridge and returning to the finish line. The previous record of 26 minutes was set by CBC in 2010, and the first known record of 27 minutes was set in 2001 by Alex Roy.

Update: According to Jalopnik, AfroDuck has been identified as 30-year-old Christopher Adam Tang and was arrested and charged with reckless driving and endangerment by the NYPD.
