Artist Installs 5,000 Ice Figurines in Birmingham, UK to Commemorate World War I Deaths
To commemorate those who lost their lives in World War I, Brazilian artist Néle Azevedo recently created an outdoor art installation in Birmingham, UK of 5,000 ice figurines which were allowed to melt in the sun. The poignant installation, entitled “Minimum Monument,” was viewed by thousands of locals at Birmingham’s Chamberlain Square before the figures melted away.
