‘Weird Al’ Yankovic Sings a Catchy Song About How the Human Brain Works

The wonderfully creative “Weird Al” Yankovic answered a question from Sir Paul McCartney about how the human brain works in a humorous 3D educational short that culminated in a catchy song.

Well, like the last 20 minutes of “2001: A Space Odyssey”, we may never fully understand it. This is obviously an extremely complex and involved subject, but let me just try to answer this as best as I can.

Al’s Brain

The song was part of Yankovic’s 2009 3D educational short film Al’s Brain, which ran at the Orange County and Western Washington fairs and was finally released online in full in August 2026.

“Al’s Brain” was originally created as an educational 3-D attraction for the Orange County Fair (Costa Mesa, CA). It debuted there in July 2009, and also had a successful run in September 2009 at Western Washington’s Puyallup Fair.
