The Mending Project, An Artist Sewing Under Many Hanging Scissors

Artist Beili Liu calmly sewed pieces of fabric together while sitting under hundreds of precariously suspended scissors in the performance piece “The Mending Project” (video). Viewers were encouraged to cut pieces of fabric for the artist to mend. The performance installation took place in 2011 at the Women and Their Work gallery in Austin.
