The Burning Wigs of Sedition, A Short Film Featuring The Extra Action Marching Band

EAMB & The Burning Wigs of Sedition @ Victoria Theater

Punk rock marching marauders Extra Action Marching Band star in a short film which makes its debut in San Francisco this Sunday, April 11th and in Denver on April 22nd.

The Burnings Wigs of Sedition is a story of wealth redistribution on the high seas. A marching band possessed of some obscure power is held captive on a timeless ship. A Secret Assassin works to use the improbable dance moves of the Galley Master to mystify the Libertine and his Court. When the slaves get loose, things go terribly wrong.

The film stars Danny Starling, Steve Heck, Flash Hopkins and the entire Extra Action Marching Band; it was directed by Anna Fitch and Simon Cheffins (who founded EAMB following the demise of his legendary band Crash Worship).

Based on this account of the film shoot you can be sure that it will be a spectacle: “angels of decadence”, “ritualistic flogging”, “resistance is futile”. Pretty much all things that could be said about EAMB’s live shows. This all goes down at Mission district’s historic Victoria Theater.

Wigs is a short film and will be shown a couple times during the night, starting at 8:30. Doors open at 7pm and there will also be a stellar lineup of live acts including Extra Action and great local bands and performers like Japonize Elephants, Freddi Price, Roky Roulette (POGOSTRIPTEASE!), The Armchair Geographers, and KROB.

Later this month Burning Wigs comes to Denver for a free showing on April 22 as guests of The Denver Filmmakers Co-op and The Dikeou Collection. More showings are sure to follow.
