Scottish and British Artists Erect a Fake Passport Checkpoint on the Border of Scotland and England
A group of Scottish and British artists led by photographerJon Parker Lee have erected a fake passport checkpoint on the border of Scotland and England as a humorous statement on the current issue of Scottish independence (see previously), which will be brought to a vote on September 18th, 2014.
Whether such a crossing would actually be put into place should Scotland vote to become an independent country is not clear. According to Channel 4, it is unlikely, but some UK politicians have said such crossing checkpoints would be needed to prevent a “soft route” for immigration to the UK through Scotland.
