Painting New York, Sand Paintings by Joe Mangrum
“Painting New York” is a new book documenting the amazing sand paintings our friend painter/sculptor Joe Mangrum has been creating by hand in New York City.
“Painting New York” is a 40 page volume measuring 8″x10″ containing 70 color photographs documenting all 41 of my sand paintings between August 23rd and November 22nd 2009. I begin with an introduction drawing on my experience and giving the audience a background and insight to my work and let the photographs tell the rest.
