I-5 Publishing, the new owners of the monthly Cat Fancy and Dog Fancy enterprises, has decided to re-launch the classic publications into a new venture that brings their online properties Dogster and Catster into a bi-monthly print magazine. In an interview with Folio, I-5’s Chief Sales Officer talks about why this change is being made.
“We feel that the tone, content and frequency of the new titles are a better fit for the contemporary pet owner and how they consume their pet-related information,” says Kim Huey-Steiner, I-5 Publishing’s chief sales officer. “The integration of online and print brands also allows us to be more focused in our mission, provide advertisers greater continuity across media and drive the greatest value for pet owners and brands alike.
Ted Rheingold, one of Dogster/Catster’s original founders, says that this was one of the original goals of the company.
An early goals for @Dogster & @Catster was to rid world of Cat Fancy mag. The new owners did just that http://t.co/w1Y9d5Hzkq
