Don’t Forget Me, A Beautiful Book Featuring Haunting Images of Memorial Ghost Bikes
After raising funds through a successful Kickstarter campaign, photographer Geanna Barnes traveled across the United States to capture beautiful images of Ghost Bikes – white painted bicycles that have become a haunting symbol of bicycle deaths throughout the country. The resulting photos, both snapshots and montages, have been turned into a beautiful book called “Don’t Forget Me, Ghost Bikes” which is currently available through her site.
I have traveled to over 50 cities photographing these bikes. The book has two parts. The first part chronicles my travels with journals and snapshots of the bikes. The second part displays my memorial art: Ghost Bike images, and photo montages that combines the Ghost Bike images with studio-shot models to represent fallen cyclists.
