Pierre-Emmanuel Meunier and Johan da Silveira, two friends and artists-in-residence at Autodesk’s Pier 9, have created tattoué, an incredible industrial tattoo machine that uses the principles of 3D printing to safely apply ink under the skin. The pair premiered their invention earlier this year at an event held at the Parisoma co-working space in San Francisco, California, where they described themselves.
Graduates of the major schools of arts and design ENSAPC (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts Paris-Cergy) and ENSAD (Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs), and after a stay at “UQAM”, we met in Paris at “ ENSCI-Les Ateliers”. We have now been invited by Autodesk to participate in the artist residence at Pier 9. Our personal experiences have enabled us to grow in areas such as sculpture, tattooing, graphic and industrial design, mechanical design, art, consulting, film making, photography, prototyping, woodworking, teaching and research, with the same pleasure and passion.
