Chinese Terracotta Warriors With American Pop Culture Character Heads

Xi’an-American Warriors are whimsical replicas of China’s famed terracotta warriors that have had their heads replaced with those of American pop culture characters. Created by artist Lizabeth Eva Rossof, the sculptures include “General” Mickey Mouse, “Kneeling Archer” Bart Simpson, and “Emperor” Batman. For realism, Rossof commissioned a terracotta warrior replica maker in China to manufacture the statues.

According to Rossof, the warriors are a commentary on the global influence of American media, and China’s counterfeiting industry. The statues are available for purchase on her website.
