Cardboard Sculptures by James Grashow

Artist James Grashow creates elaborate, often large scale cardboard sculptures of animals, figures, and architecture. Grashow has been making paper sculptures since the 1960s—his most recent, “Corrugated Fountain,” is a 27 foot wide sculpture of an Italian Baroque-style fountain that took Grashow four years to make. After two years of touring the sculpture, Grashow installed it outdoors at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut on April 1. It will slowly decay in the elements until May 12.
