Tim Curry Talks About Playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ in a 1975 BBC Interview

During a behind-the-scenes interview with the BBC on July 26, 1975, Tim Curry shared his thoughts on playing the now-iconic Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I play Frank-N-Furter. He is kind of a new variation on the mad scientist of horror films that we all know and love. It is a parody, but I also play it and think of it as a kind of grisly reality, and uh, Frank-N-Furter, as a variation on Frankenstein, is obsessed with image and the way that things look, but I see him and play him as a kind of grisly real freak.
