The Spanish fir tree’s flowers are in bloom, covering everything in a sticky yellow pollen. The wrap is meant to help with the cleanup. Luckily there’s only one area in San Francisco where the trees grow… … … and if you believe that…

So the really funny thing about this is that the city (or at least, the person staffing 311 on a Saturday) doesn’t know why they do this. I asked @SF311 on Twitter:

it’s also cuz the warped tour is happening across the street at pier 28. this wrap is along the embarcadero across from the pier.
