Reframed, Disused Street Sign Frame Turned into a Picture Frame

For his street art piece, “Reframed,” artist George Zisiadis converted a disused parking sign frame in San Francisco into a picture frame.

This piece quite literally allows pedestrians to experience a “reframing” of public space. It simply and beautifully exemplifies the power of taking a new view on old things.

While walking through the tiny oasis of South Park in SF’s SOMA I noticed an old parking sign frame with the sign missing. It became a sort of window or frame from which to view the street, but kind of an ugly one. I wondered how the view would look if I spruced it up a bit…
