Pet Squirrel Hides Nuts In the Fur of a Bernese Mountain Dog

Squirrels naturally like to hide their food for safekeeping, usually buried in the ground or in the hollow of a tree. But what’s a squirrel to do if he has neither? In this 2013 video by Shannon Apple, her pet squirrel Wally has found that the fur of his companion Jax, a Bernese Mountain Dog, will serve just fine.

It seems that Jax serves many purpose for Wally. Here he is, also in 2013, acting as a dining table for Wally to enjoy his almonds

Wally also likes hiding Cheez-It crackers in Jax’s fur.
