Thanks to Chip Beale for the tip!

Decadent Californians! Is this your so-called individualism?

I’m not a great fan of either Jackson or Farrah, but this image is cruel.

Two people have died and this is what you choose to show?

PapiBear June 26, 2009 at 9:55 am

I don’ think this is cruel. They are dead, what do they care. Farrah is finally out of the physical pain of a horrible disease and MJ is finally out of the mental anguish he obviously suffered over the years. Neither was a saint or any better than people like the AIDS orphans in Africa, who love to get this kind of media exposure for their suffering.

I am appalled…

that Ed McMahon was not worked in there somewhere.

PapiBear,

So neither Farrah or Jackson have any relatives who might care?

PapiBear June 26, 2009 at 12:48 pm

Alan Sailer,

Really? About this?
Trust me, I am sure they are way more worried about where the money will go.
Besides that, celebrity gets what it wants. Attention. You don’t get to choose good or bad attention.
I am not sure why you think this is about either of the celebrities anyway. This is not a slam on either one, merely a commentary on how fast the world works and we gotta get our grieving done so we can log on to twitter to catch the next buzz. Of course i can’t read Chip’s mind, that is just my interpretation.

PapiBear,

Unless you are a relative of either Jackson or Farrah, you can’t know what they are thinking, only guess.

And I agree completely about the attention issue. You can’t pick and choose what kind of attention you get. Even this conversation is a small example of this.

I also agree with you that this morph thing can be seen as a commentary.

But it is also a morph of Jackson and Farrah. Who both just died.

And I guess we will just have to disagree about the cruel part.

And thanks for keeping it civil. I like that.

No reason to be uncivil. I love discourse, not uselessly bashing people because their opinion differs. Have a great day man!
