90-Year-Old Tortoise Who Lost Her Front Legs to Rats Is Able to Move Again With the Help of Model Airplane Wheels

A 90-year-old tortoise named Mrs. T. was given a second chance at mobility when her clever human creatively attached wheels from his aircraft model set onto her shell. Mrs. T had been attacked by rats while she was hibernating, resulting in the loss of both her front legs. In an interview with The Telegraph, Mrs. T’s human, Jude Ryder, talked about how the good-natured tortoise adjusted to the wheels.

She took to them straight away, but she has had to learn how to turn and stop. She can get a good speed up, much faster than before. Mrs T is still quite young for a tortoise. She could go on for another 50 years – all she needs is a new set of tyres every now and again.
