Neil Young Performs a Duet With Another Version of Himself While Sitting Upon a Rotating Tree Trunk

The great Neil Young appeared on the June 21st episode of The Tonight Show in an amusing duet upon a rotating tree stump with another version of himself (played of course, by host Jimmy Fallon). The look-alike duo performed a song that was very appropriately named “Two Neil Youngs on a Tree Stump“.

One guy sitting on a tree stump
Thinkin’ bout life and the changin’ seasons
Whilin’ away the hours of the day
Till the morning comes

One guy sitting on a tree stump
Sittin’ all alone in the noonday sun
Lookin’ for the shade of yesterday,
But it’s all gone

Two Neil Youngs on a tree stump
Where did the other Neil come from?
Came from the future back to the past
To warn your ass

The living tree
Became the giving tree
Become one with nature
Become two of me

We’re two Neil Youngs
Sittin’ on a tree stump
Used to be a tree trunk
But look at what we’ve done
Said the father to the son

The leaves on the trees had to leave and the air that we breathe is gone
What does it mean? We don’t know, don’t ask us
We’re both stumped

Two Neil Youngs on a tree stump
Where did the other Neil come from?
I am you
You are me
Love is love.
