Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco is currently presenting Mona, an art show featuring modern takes on Da Vinci’s masterpiece, Mona Lisa, by international contemporary artists. The show will be on display until Thursday, August 8, 2013. Artwork from the Mona exhibit is available to purchase online from the Modern Eden Gallery website.
The Mona Lisa has been acclaimed as “the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world.” In this exhibition, a selection of international contemporary artists are taking on that tradition and re-creating the well-known masterpiece with their own artistic variations.
