Harvard Researchers Have Developed Termite-Inspired Robots That Build Structures Autonomously

A research team at Harvard University has developed robots that can build simple structures autonomously using a behavioral system inspired by termites. Besides eliminating the need for a control system (or human controller), the swarm-like system means that if a robot is disabled, the other robots can continue the task. National Geographic has more on the robots.
