‘Handcrafted’, A Documentary Short About Israeli Master Guitar Maker Eitan Bartal

“Handcrafted” is a documentary short by Tel Aviv-based filmmaker Roy Alter that explores the work of Eitan Bartal, a master luthier who crafts Flamenco-style guitars by hand in the ancient port town of Jaffa, Israel.

To me, the single most important thing in guitar-making is understanding the wood. The ability to properly analyze the wood’s character. To just feel it, and find what I like to call the “sweet spot,” the “magic spot.”
