Artists Embroiders Slices of Bread From Crust to Crust to Symbolize Days of the Week

Everyday Bread

In November 2015, textile artist Terézia Krnáčová from Banská Bystrica, Slovakia shared her wonderfully creative project “Everyday Bread” in which she embroidered six slices of bread with crust to crust with unique designs – one for each day of the week. The seventh slice was left as is to symbolize a day of rest.

My concept is expression of my personal relationship with textiles. I love textile art and I can‘t live a day without it. I made a composition of seven, as there are days in week, dry slides of bread, six of them processing by textile techniques and the seventh is just a slide of bread as Sunday, which is a day of relaxation.
