Artist Julia Rio, whose motto is “Knit fast, die warm“, very cleverly yarn-bombed the outdoor faucets of Stockholm, Sweden so that they would spout colorful knitting instead of their usual water. This humorous feat is just the beginning of Rio’s ambitious mission to cover all of Stockholm’s “fences, trees and public spaces with yarn.”

Julia Riordan is a creator/street-artist who discovered her passion for crochet and knitting at the age of 10. Her first creations resembled beanies and scarves that her family was kind enough to wear, pretending it was the real thing. Since that time she has continually explored the field of knitwear, enjoyed seeing it become her passion, and now the real thing. …Julia has always been a big admirer of street-art, and after completing her first yarnbomb in the streets of London 2013 while studying at London College Of Fashion, her adrenaline and creativity seeked out more of this type of expression. Julia is now living in Stockholm and continues to explore her love of knitted art by covering fences, trees and public spaces with yarn.
