‘BLACKBIRD’, A Beautiful Side-by-Side Visual Comparison of the Films ‘Birdman’ and ‘Black Swan’

Film editor Michael Branco (previously) has created “BLACKBIRD“, a brief but beautiful side-by-side visual comparison of the films Birdman by Alejandro G. Iñárritu and Black Swan by Darren Aronofsky–both of which explore the psyche behind the individual as performer.

While watching Birdman recently, I realized how similar it was to Black Swan decided to purchase the Blu-rays and edit a quick 1.5 minute video comparing the similarities. …New York City — two artists, two opening nights, two rival figures, and one center stage. Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s “Birdman” bares many striking resemblances to Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan,” in terms of plot, characters, and on-screen imagery. Having seen both films beforehand is highly recommended. Spoilers [in 4k!] ahead.
