Uh-oh. Sad news comes via Sfgirlbybay that the monthly flea market held at the former Alameda Naval Air Station has been cancelled for November… and it’s not clear when (or if) the sprawling event will resume.
According to the flea market’s official website, “Proceedings have been commenced for the voluntary dissolution of Antiques By The Bay, Inc. As a result the show scheduled for Nov 1, 2009 will not take place.” Apparently there’s litigation underway between the partners who organize the flea market. Ew.

Hi Everyone,
I was contacted by a future exhibitor of ours for The Marin MarketPlace about the news and confusion.
We have been working on our venue The Marin MarketPlace since February.
It will be held in Central San Rafael in Marin County with the Grand Opening set for Spring 2010. (Sooner if we can get all the necessary permits etc. in line)
We have been out and about the past few months at many of the shows (including Alameda) and have personally met with so many talented people and are looking forward to working with everyone to make The Marin MarketPlace ” A Shopping Destination” for Bay Area Residents as well as visiting tourists.
We have 300 plus exhibitors signed up and raring to go but would love to encourage anyone who has interest to go to our website http://www.MarinMarketPlace and sign-up. Also feel free to email us at Cansanelli@MarinMarketPlace.com or call us at 415.898.0245.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Angie & Charles Ansanelli
