Photos are starting to come in from the giant Pie Fight that took place this afternoon in San Francisco at the Powell Street Cable Car Turnaround. Steve Rhodes has a great set of photos (posted above). I especially like the photos of shaving cream covered people being interviewed by the media.

Here are more write-ups and photos of the pie fight from SFist, Mauricio Balvanera, Matt Cohen, Michael Morris, Ed Hunsinger and Ales Vlasak.

  1. ya, very selfish people, i think.

left a giant mess on sidewalk for everybody else to deal with.

  2. Gabriel.. did you actually attend this event? The absurd spectacle of a real pie fight is so valuable, and such a celebration of life, that I’m amazed and disgusted by your reaction. Sometimes a mess is to be embraced. That’s what a pie fight is all about. A little shaving cream on the sidewalk is a small price to pay for the happiness this brought to almost everyone present. Some people aren’t happy, though, unless they have something to complain about. With that in mind, I wish you a luxurious pie to the face in the near future. And i hope that when it comes, you’ve gained the good sense to enjoy it.
