Designer Kevin Grennan built this robot armpit prototype as part of his studies on the role of smell in human robot interaction. He has also developed concepts for adding scent glands to industrial robots, such as a bomb disposal robot that emits the smell of fear, or a surgical robot that releases oxytocin, a hormone that encourages trust.
