More Incredibly Cute Footage of Baby Sloths at Costa Rican Sanctuary
When these baby sloths get mange there’s only one solution: a buzz cut. Then they have to be swaddled in special outfits to keep them warm and mange-free.
The documentary by Lucy Cooke about The Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica sloths, titled Meet the Sloths, premieres in the UK on Animal Planet on March 4, 2012. Four videos have surfaced of these incredibly cute sloths have been released. One shows a baby sloth getting shaved and then swaddled in a onesie, another two segments focus on inseparable baby sloth twins and the love they need, and lastly, Cooke talks about her work with the sloths. We last posted about Cooke and The Sloth Sanctuary in the post, Too Cute! Baby Sloths, A Documentary on Costa Rica Sloth Sanctuary.
In a sleepy corner of Costa Rica there is a very peculiar but extraordinary sanctuary. Run by Judy Avey-Arroyo for 20 years, this is the only sanctuary in the world devoted to saving orphaned and injured sloths, and is home to over 160 of them, some of whom have become an internet sensation.
