‘Mission Statement’, An Original Song About Nonsensical Corporate Buzzwords by ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic

“Weird Al” Yankovic has released a music video for his song “Mission Statement”, an original song about nonsensical corporate buzzwords. The song is done in the style of “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” by Crosby, Stills & Nash without being a direct parody. The Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy blog has more on the song and video.

“I wanted to do a song about all the ridiculous double-speak and meaningless buzzwords that I’ve been hearing in office environments my entire life,” Yankovic says by e-mail. “I just thought it would be ironic to juxtapose that with the song stylings of CSN, whose music pretty much symbolizes the antithesis of corporate America.

“Mission Statement” is off Yankovic’s new album, Mandatory Fun, which released on July 15th. The album is currently available via Amazon.
