Meetro

Meetro

Meetro is a location-based social network application with a built-in IM client. If you like Plazes or Dodgeball, then you should check out Meetro. More info on TechCrunch and Wired News.

Technically speaking, Meetro is radius and proximity based software. Untechnically speaking, it finds like-minded people around you instantly. Wherever you are. So whether you’re in-town or out of town, Meetro gets you on the town with old friends or new acquaintances.

The Meetro developers have relocated to Palo Alto from Chicago and have been making the rounds promoting their new application and impersonating a boy band. Many of us have been giving them a hard time because the Meetro client was Windows only, but this week that all changed when they released an alpha version of their Mac client. If you are a Mac user and are interested in trying it out, here’s more info on how to sign-up:

Meetro has now launched its Mac private alpha and is looking for people to participate. We plan on distributing it to the first few hundred people that email us. So reserve your spot now! Also, please include the city/state you reside in as well when contacting us.
