‘Invisible Ocean: Plankton & Plastic’, A Short Documentary About a Microscopic Threat to Ocean Life
It was love at first when I saw these tintinnids through the microscope because of their resemblance to a champagne glass for a mermaid.
“Invisible Ocean: Plankton & Plastic” is a short documentary by director Emily V. Driscoll of BonSci Films that focuses on environmental artist Mara G. Haseltine as she works to create a sculpture about the microscopic threat plastic poses to ocean life. During a Tara expedition, Haseltine discovered microscopic pieces of plastic inside samples of tintinnid plankton, and that inspired her work.
