Disgruntled Waiter Hosts ‘The Last Jewish Waiter’ Talk Show at NYC’s Katz’s Delicatessen
“They say the customer is always right. I say ‘not here, fuck them.’”
At the beginning of The Last Jewish Waiter, foul-spoken David Manheim says he’s always wanted his own talk show but instead he’s working as the sole Jewish waiter at New York City’s famous Katz’s Delicatessen. To remedy that, he has created a brilliant new series that follows him waiting tables. The first episode is called “Welcome to my Hell” and, as you can imagine, it’s a no holds barred look at his job. We’re looking forward to seeing more episodes.
Relatedly, Katz’s is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and The New York Times recently featured it in “In 125 Years, Much Has Changed, but the Pastrami Is the Same.”
