Ambucycle, Motorcycle Ambulance Brings Rescuer to the Scene in Minutes

Ambucycle

The Ambucycle is a motorcycle loaded with life-saving first aid equipment that, due to its small size and nimble handling, can deliver a first responder to the scene of a medical emergency dramatically faster than a conventional ambulance. The Ambucycle is operated by United Hatzalah, a volunteer EMT service in Israel with a network of 2,000 EMTs and doctors who respond to emergencies in their own communities. The average response time of an Ambucycle first responder is an astonishing 90 seconds—ambulances generally arrive much later due to heavy traffic or obstructed roads. For more info on the Ambucycle, see this TED Talk by United Hatzalah founder Eli Beer and this Wired Autopia article.
