A Visual Demonstration of How Solar and Lunar Eclipses Work and Why They Happen So Infrequently

A recent video by Vox offers a visual demonstration of how solar and lunar eclipses work. It also explains how the slight skew of the Moon’s orbit keeps eclipses from happening more frequently.

A total lunar eclipse will occur on March 20, 2015 and will be visible from the Faroe Islands with partial views seen from other parts of Europe and Africa.
